Quick Word Press Tip!

Greetings dear blog reader!

I have a quick handy tip for you about Word Press. I’ve only just noticed this because I thought it was something to do with Google+ but then realised it was on the WP dashboard bar. Check the image below.

See that zero next to my name? That shows you if something has happened on your blog, like a recent comment or if someone has clicked LIKE on a post. Before you had to wait for an email from WP or went to your main dashboard. Now, whenever you are logged into WP, and browsing other WP blogs this handy little tool will light up with a 1 or 2 or 3 or whatever to let you know something funky has taken place on your blog!

And there were have it. Just thought I’d share that with you!

The only other news I wish to impart is my word count for NaNoWriMo hit 27,000 words today! Huzzah!

  1. I noticed that today too! I was logged in on G+ so it took me a moment to realize that it wasn’t related to that. I like it!

And congrats on the 27k woop wooop! More than halfway there… see, we (Team Indy) was right, you would finish by week two LMAO!!

    1. Tis a funky little gadget! I’m aiming for around 80k although it might stretch a little beyond that. Not that word length has anything to do with quality, but the story is a little on the epic side!

  2. Nice one. I’ll do my best to rack up your counter.
BTW: received my copies (2) of “My Grammer and I…”. A beautiful piece of literature. Thx for the hot tip on that one.

    1. I dip into that book almost every day, like yesterday when I saw an article in a newspaper that used the word “alright” and I was sure it was wrong. It’s acceptable, according to My Grammar and I but really the rule is: It’s either all right or all wrong. Glad I had the book to hand!

  3. 27.000 words!!!!! Have you slept! At this rate you will have finished the challenge by the 16th! What are you going to do for the rest of the month?
Now I’ve lit gizmo – the wordpress gizmo that is!

    1. I’ve slept quite well in fact. It’s just that when I get into the writing I don’t hang around. I like to get on with it. But also my shifts at work help, having 2 days off a week, and I get 6 whole yummy days off next week too! Woop!
