I’m a big sky/sunset photo fan! If I ever save enough money I’d love to buy a quality camera and some gear to take better landscape photos. Maybe one day, for now I’m happy snapping away at these glorious scenes.
Taken just outside our village last week using my Nokia N8 camera phone. I’m taking a series of photos of the same field throughout the year so hopefully I’ll have one when the corn changes to a lush gold colour. With any luck I’ll capture one with a field of snow sometime in the winter.
Took this gorgeous photo overlooking one of the race courses in Newmarket in April. Looks amazing in full view. I had to wait around for about an hour to get this shot!
It all looks so lovely where you live. I like them both but the sunset is my favorite.
It’s a very flat area, where I live, the only hills we have here are bridges over the train tracks and very low rises where the ground undulates across the landscape.
The sunset lets me feel as if I’m actually in the photo. The depth of the sky draws the viewer in. Wonderful shot. Love it.
Thanks Chesshire! It’s been a glorious day here so I’ll be out and about in a few hours to snap some more sunset photos!
beautiful sunset. I thought the first was a wheat field. Can you tell I’m not a farmer? heh heh.
do get yourself a good camera someday – you have a great eye for visual!
walk in beauty.
That was my mistake, I think it is actually wheat, no idea where I got corn from!
i love the blues and greens
Thanks! Deep blue skies look amazing from that spot.
More lovely photos of our big sky’s, wonderful π
Big skies FTW!!
There is something very powerful about the sky and the ocean. I love gazing at them both. I feel so small and humbled when I do. Beautiful photos!
Thanks Billie. They’re pretty magnificent skies indeed!
I love the contrast between the two photographs!
I’m definitely with you on that one! I love sunsets too, especially ones with clouds and silhouettes. I have a thing – I’m discovering – with silhouettes. I used to watch sunsets by the lake especially during the most difficult times of my life. I always think, “If God can do THAT then He can do ANYthing!” Majestic!
Makes you realise that if nature can achieve such wonders so effortlessly then our problems seem to melt away and feel small in comparison.
Great colour in you photos π
I like the field! So simple but so beautiful on the same time. π
Big Sky Country π Looks good – hope you are able to complete your field project.
Thanks! It’ll take about a year and then plenty of time to sift through the photos to find the best ones. I was thinking of having them printed and framed if they’re good enough.
Love the field pic…
Thanks Robin! It’s a very peaceful field, nothing but me and the sway of the crops, well, clouds too!
Composition of the first pic is fantastic. Love it.
Thanks! Loved your Sanderling Sunrise photo. Lovely colours, looks like only a few minutes ago the sky was blooming with stars.

Light and dark…I enjoyed each photo and felt differently looking at each. Beautiful!
