It was a glorious Bank Holiday at Reach Fair in Cambridge. Beer tent, burgers, hog roast, Morris Dancers, and all manner of traditional English attractions. Reach is one of the oldest villages in England and the annual fair has been held for 800 years! It is opened by the Mayor of Cambridge who throws freshly minted pennies into the crowd!
I figure The Big Wheel sums up the theme of Round in a big way for the theme of the Weekly Photo Challenge: Round.
Very cool! Looks like a lot of fun!
It was ace fun! My only disappointment was the medieval arena which wasn’t there this year. Last year there were all these guys in authentic armour with really heavy swords and those brightly coloured tents. They were doing jousting and drinking lots of mead. Was looking forward to that. Boo.
Hahahahha, I am scared of heights, makes me wanna hurl š
They had a helter-skelter too!
Wow 800 years. I am a child again, I could go round and round on this big fun wheel.
I spent rather a lot of time near the beer tent! Too much time actually!
reminds me of the book “Something Wicked This Way Comes” scarry!
A few friends have told me that pic looks a bit fearsome too, strange indeed.
Wow… Does this ever bring back childhood memories!
I know! I think it’s pretty cool their are still fun fairs travelling around like this with the big colourful signs, that fair even had a coconut shy!
