Photo Friday!

Hey there dear blog reader! It’s Friday so I’m a happy smilin’ dude today! I’ll be posting a new instalment of Arcane Insane later this evening but in the meantime I thought I’d share a few photo’s with you!

juicy tomatoesFor some strange reason our tomato growing efforts always seem to produce the tastiest harvest but not until mid to late September. It’s been this way for years now, we plant them at the right time, they have plenty of light and water and fertilizer, but they just take so dang long to grow! Well worth the wait though, these babies are surrrrrweet!

Near NewmarketRecently we’ve had some cracking sunsets in our village. I took this one outside the bank just after 7pm. No camera trickery or Photoshop stuff here. The sun looked like a big ball of stuff floating above the horizon!

stone dragonThis is a beautiful stone dragon. It’s hidden away in a friend’s garden, deep in slumber. Dragons, especially baby ones, are shy creatures and turn to stone when anyone spots them. I love how it seems to blend in with its surroundings, pretending to be a mere statue, but anyone who watches Game of Thrones knows, here be dragons!

And finally a lovely photo of our young girly furbaby, Tilly. We were out walking the dogs and stopped to pick black currents, Tilly decides to offer her opinion of all that waiting around business! What a sweetie!

  1. Awww, Tilly is such a sweetie! I love the dragon ‘statue’ (Game of Thrones reader and watcher so I know the truth) and those tomatoes, oh, my gawd do they look delicious, I wanted to take a bite of my screen πŸ™‚ The sunset looks like a melting egg yolk — very beautiful shot.

  2. Dude! You had to mention Game of Thrones! Like I’m not already jonsing the DRAGONS! Awesome pics as always. Those tomatoes look luscious! P.S. Who’s the cute lil gal with sweet Tilly? πŸ˜‰

  3. I’ve never really felt like I have much a green thumb. I have to say though: I have a knack for weeds πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ I could say all the right things by saying I should try, but you know what? Growing stuff in the garden is just not my ‘thing’. πŸ˜€

    1. Growing stuff is easy! Just do what we do – plant seeds, add water now and then. A few months later eat whatever has grown. We’re very much hands off gardeners. We have a bunch of pots and tubs and really have no idea what we’re doing! We tend to leave plants to their own devices, we water them, they give us food whenever they feel like it! No pressure!
